DOES GETTING THERAPY MEAN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME?
Therapy doesn't mean something is wrong with you nor does it mean you are weak. In fact, facing life's challenges and/or trauma is a major demonstration of strength that your taking control of your life. Everyone, at times experiences challenges, uncomfortable feelings and unmanageable emotions which can interfere in daily tasks or relationships. Therapy can assist you with a newfound awareness of your strengths, help change unwanted behaviors and increase your motivation to improve the quality of your life.
HOW CAN THERAPY HELP WITH MY RELATIONSHIPS?
Often, we find it isn't due to lack of love but rather a lack of knowledge that prevents us from having the best experiences within our relationships. Our upbringing and life experiences all play a part in who we are today. Therapy can be a great tool to improve interpersonal relationships by exploring common relationship pitfalls such as poor conflict resolution, communication misunderstandings, and lack of empathy.
